Clear coat

Hi guys, I've been using the Universl Cler with great results. I have to fix a keyed BMW x-5. I will have to clear the entire side of the vehicle and was thinking of trying Euro Clear, which Euro do you guys recommend, and at what reduction? Thanks, Dan.

Most of the time it's better to stick with what you know, but I use the regular Euro #5000 reduced 4:1:1.5 with pretty good results. If you are in a VOC regulated area, you might need the Euro 2.1 #5100.

wouldnt the euro be able to match the factory peel better?

How many coats with that ratio? I just got some euro 5000 for my shop(using for insurance-collision work),parts usually gets sanded and buffed.Looking forward to replacing the shelf full clears I have now with 2 clears. Will be ordering some UV for the custom stuff.

Two coats, and it's got plenty of film build at that rate.

Btw, I didn't mean to ignore platinum performance's question, I honestly just don't know.

It may be easier too, say spray first coat medium at 4:1:1, let set up for 20 minutes, so you don't re-flow and spray a wet second coat at 4:1:1.5.

The Ford dealers tell me what works best with the Universal is spray a medium coat, let set 20 minutes and then one wet coat and it matches factory perfect.
The Toyota dealers do the same but one say he sprays a medium dry coat and lets set 15 minutes and then one wet coat.

A gallon kit of Euro RTS makes anywhere from 6-7 quarts, at 4:1:1.5 it makes 6.5.
