Classic car insurance

Just got approval from grundy @ $528. a year just going to wait for reply for the other company and pick one. Much better than 6k for a year.
The other company has mileage restrictions but will be much less than I will be driving so i'm not to concerned with that.

I realize that this thread is over a month old, but I wanted to put my 2 cents in. . .

I've had Grundy insurance for about a decade. Excellent company to deal with, nothing but good things to say about them, and yes, I have had a claim.

I have been with Haggerity since 1992, never had a claim but over the years have talked to people that have had claims with all the "classic car insurance companies" and all of them when they are done the body shop and customers are impressed.

I just broke the front glass on wifes T-bird, it would have been covered but I'm paying out of my pocket as I just don't think they should pay for my stupidity and have to raise everyone Else's rates.

We are lucky to have these type of companies out there, I have my house and regular cars with State Farm for about 20 years, never had a claim but if I did, I'm sure they would be great to deal with, I just don't want to deal with them if I had a claim with one of my collectors.

I have dealt with haggerty in the past with customers, and yes, they were great to deal with. No complaints.
I will probably use them to insure my stuff at some point but din't think they were right for my S-10 at $800.00 more for a year.
I'm kind of taking a gamble and hoping for the best. If I have a claim and had good luck I would stick with them.

I insured my '70 AMX with a declared policy with my local agent [Nationwide], and added it right to my regular policy. There is a few restrictions, like no commute, stored in locked garage, etc.
There is also Heacock?

About the same time I was looking for coverage for mine, a friend insured his 69 AMX with Heacock Ins., and really liked the rate...

I looked into the "stated value" policy through State Farm and the fine print seemed to leave them too many options in how to treat the claim. That was a few years ago and my mind can't recall the details but be sure to check closely so that you are getting the coverage you need.

Back in early 90's my State farm agent told me I should consider a classic car company for insurance as like he pointed what does $50,000 of stated value mean? It meant the adjuster has all the leeway in the world and his Idea may be $10,000.

I'll double check with my agent, but I think we have agreed, up front, to what the car is worth, if a total loss.
They wanted digital Pics. of all 4 sides of the car and came to my home to look at the car, and the garage, before they would write the policy.
