Can I use SPI Epoxy over Lacquer Primer?

I have some sheet metal pieces that have been prepped and primed with lacquer primer (inner fenders, splash pans, brackets, etc). All were properly prepped, imprefections filled and then primed. Can I use SPI epoxy over the lacquer primer? If not, is there a sealer I can use. I do not want to start over. Any advise is appreciated.

Do not reduce the epoxy as it will further melt the lacquer, after first coat as a barrier you can.
Just remember, the weakest point will be the lacquer and the only thing the epoxy is doing is keeping it from lifting while painting.
