Can I just Sand/Scuff Epoxy Again

I have been reading that if you use Epoxy as a sealer and let it set for a while you need to sand, reseal, then apply base within 7 days. Can you just sand with 600 and apply your base (assuming you let it sit way more than 7 days)?
 
Yes, but you will not have full adhesion if sand and basing; you have a max of 14 days to spray base.
If it's not been outside, if it has or over 14 days sand with180 and re- epoxy.

Sand the sealer (epoxy) with 180? I was planning on blocking down to 400 before applying the sealer (I know the 2k sealer says 320 or 400. Does using the epoxy as a sealer (reduced) cover much deeper scratches?).

Also if you are doing jambs(back of hood, etc.) first, would you then just seal these parts and finish them. Then seal the rest of the car when you are ready to finish it? I thought doing it this way might make the lines more pronounced since now you have sealed, base, and clear masked off.
 
All sealers are different, even epoxy depending on how they're made.
A good example is LF-PPG epoxy, made to be faster for production work.
Spi epoxy will cover 180 in one coat mixed 1.1, and up to 10% reducer added.

Bottom line, you need to decide what type of paint job you want as the better jobs require more struck guild lines and more work.
 
Using the SPI epoxy as a sealer (I assume reduced quite a bit), will 400 be too fine or is it still ok (Or would you block to 320)? This will be my final blocking before the sealer (already have most of the epoxy down (not SPI), but I need more so wanted to switch to SPI to use as the epoxy for what I have left and a sealer for the whole car). Note that I do not care about speed here as this is a 66 Mustang restore with my son.
 
I've done 320 with Spi, but 400 might work.
I reduce as sealer 5 to 20%, and one coat handles 180 pretty quickly.
Check your TDS on the epoxy you're using to be safe, as there are 100 ways to make an epoxy.
 
I wish I found out about these products (and this great forum) before I started, but not too late now to switch for my last panel or two of epoxy and sealer for entire car (and of course the Universal clear). Many thanks for your help.
