Black Single Stage on '88 Mustang Coupe

Hopefully she flew SWA!
Thanks for the compliments guys - I'm glad to be in the home stretch with this project. The single stage went on well - I had a few areas of dry spray edges, and I think that was due to it being a little warmer than I had projected. I used the medium hardener and think I would have been better served with the slow hardener, or maybe mixed the two - but I tell you what - There are absolutely no runs !! Just a little more work in the wetsanding and buffing, and I'll know for next time to pay a little more attention to the temperature.

Barry - how close is your white single stage to ford's crystal white (code ZR '95 cobra r)? I have to do a full repaint on the vehicle and was curious. Thanks again.

Travis, the SPI white is a little whiter as there is no other tint in it.
We have some color chips can send you.

Barry,
I requested a paint chip / spray out card and it arrived the other day - it looks like it will match up just fine. I will be in touch as soon as I finish this project. Thanks again.

More progress! Got the hood, door hinges, and fuel door completed. Finished buffing the doors, trunk lid, and fenders (wet sanding 1000/1500/2000). It has been about a year since these parts were painted and they still buffed great - excellent gloss, and I am thrilled with how this is turning out. I am using 3m foam compounding and buffing pads, and a 2 step 3m compound and polish (05996 it says it is for 'dark colors'). Should I also be using a 3rd step on black? I'm not seeing many swirl marks with the 2 step system - any advice is greatly appreciated. Enjoy the photos - happy new year!
