That looks like a serious build there! Lotsa lightweight stuff, did any of the Regals come with aluminum rad supports like some of the cutlasses? Is this still a turbo V6 car?

The car was purchased as a roller for pretty cheap. Never seen a winter, 10 point cage, fully back halved, 9" although the rear end isn't narrowed a ton so of wont have steam rollers on iit.

Should have paint on it Saturday.

Nice! That's a big turbo. The stock rearends out of those cars are easy to sell-the only G-body to come with an 8.5 10 bolt.

I think next year it might have a BBC with twins. I posted a thread on a 92 mustang I completed earlier last year. This is the same owner. This is his street car, lmao!!

Got the car all sanded and ready for paint but the weather isnt in in my favor. maybe later I can push this out if the rain stops and clean the garage.

Help this old geezer out, what does ftw stand for?

With the popularity of these LS1 turbo swaps, I can't believe GM hasn't done one from the factory yet.

I'm a Ford Guy and even I can appreciate the ls platform engines. The Guy who owns this car mixed and match parts from several ls motors and built a combo that propelled his 3100lb mustang to 10.20's on motor with an overdrive trans. Efi and all.

Anyways. Getting ready to lay some sealer and black. Probably clear it tomorrow morning
Gonna do 4 coats and I just don't have it in me tonight. LOL

You might want to run a tag rag over the paper when you tackrag between coats of base, most varieties of that green paper tend to fiber up when used for paintwork and it usually makes for a dirty clear application. I don't know if the fibers break off or what but I know the paper fuzzes up and the job ends up dirtier.

Got the color done. Gonna clear in a few once I wake up. I hate doing completes like this. Much rather paint in pieces.

She looks black, Hope the clear goes on perfect for you.

Looks great! Bob raised a good point. Next all over, try upgrading your paper. I use the green for when I prime...but use a better quality paper for painting. I think you'll find that it will cut down on any trash significantly.

I know the green paper is cheap..but I think upgrading will be money well spent. USC has a nice polycoated blue paper. I use the akzo clear plastic "paper". I believe they are the only ones who have that particular type. Norton also has a good one called "paint check" in white color, polycoated also.

In any case, should still run over all of your paper with a tack rag. I use 2 tack rags when doing all overs...one for the body and one for the paper.

Looks great though. Love me some black! Just not on my cars...LOL.
