Ok...l**co

The name of the company is automatically censored here. What I know is a couple of folks like them, several don't. I don't know enough to make an informed reply. Never used it. So essentially I am no help at all.:)

Long time reader, first time poster... I own a small shop in central Wisconsin.

I've used their products in the past before i tried out SPI. Bought a half pint of a pearl orange from them that a customer picked out online and it took 8 coats to completely cover a spray out card. Asked about my coverage issues and was sent a replacement half pint and had the same issue. I have an axalta mixing bank and mixed a very similar color that covered in 4.

Their urethane primer is decent. Tried out a few different clears and was not impressed with any of them; from their high dollar clear to their glamour clear.

The SPI euro clear sprays better, looks awesome off the gun, and buffs better as well.

I have been told by a very reliable source that they do not make any of the products they sell. And to be fair, another gent that I respect a lot likes the products he has used of theirs. I also helped a local guy for a few weeks last year and he was using their stuff. Base and clear. He was singing its praises, but grain of salt this guy also was a big "Wet Wet" clear guy until he learned the hard way. The color looked OK, Metallic was a little muddy which indicates it's lower quality. If you are on a very tight budget it may work out OK. Otherwise there are better products out there. (Hint SPI:))

Yeah their bases sound very transparent almost like a candy. They even say the colors will look very different depending whether it’s over white, gray, or black. And they’re reasonably priced but not like they’re giving it away either. So if you have to do extra coats to get desired results maybe not the greatest choice. I was looking into them for a color that is close to Ford laser red. But they’re price was too much for the budget on this car. It’s my own car. Southern car so the laser red is now burnt and pink. All the jambs are still good. No rust. So pretty much just a scuff, seal, and spray. But it’s just a 2001 V6 so it’s only worth what it’s worth regardless. But it is rust free and I’m in the northeast, 90k miles, clean title, and mechanically sound. But you can understand the reason for my tight budget. I’ll never get the extra money back out when I sell it if I blow 1500 on materials on a high quality tri coat laser red lol. If it was a 40k mile cobra ok different story. And it’s a complete so I’m not trying to match anything. I just want it somewhat close so the jambs aren’t way off. I was also looking at the coating store maybe? I’d have to check again. Any opinions? Suppose this maybe should’ve been it’s own thread but I got on a roll here once I started typing haha.

yep the 2 colors i used from Urechem fire red metallic and watermelon red metallic covered well with 2 coats and a drop coat....looked good under spi UV clear...not so much with there clear that came as a kit ....looked too thin.

Yeah they had one that resembled laser red, I forget which one it was I’ll have to look again as it’s a project I should do soon. I’ll buy a gallon. Good to hear it covered well. They had a handful of metallic reds so I gotta see which is closest again.

Yes they have a laser red...tri stage..which I can't comment on...but would like to try some in the future .when you do get your project sprayed with it..let us know what you think. With pics.

Yeah I saw the laser red. Laser red generally has always been a tri coat. This car doesn’t warrant a tri coat lol. So I’m trying to pick one of their metallic reds that match the closest.

I have used the ****$***** 2k primer and it was ok....none of the other products.....for inexpensive basecoats... UREChem all the way....

I dont know why, but the ****$***** way of advertising just bugged the shit out of me. I know it really shouldnt matter, but they just struck me as a relabeled products.

Although. I did purchase some Wanda from Chad for a project and that stuff is priced really really good! The color I needed was 350/qt in dbc. And I got 2 qts of Wanda for 194. Now it mixes 2:1 instead but cost savings far out weighs the mixing ratio! I'm anxious to see how it shoots.

Wanda...is another I would like to try...and to white snake..when I sprayed the fire red it looked darker than the sample showed which I knew pics don't do justice...so bought water Mellon red...but that had a pinkish tinge to it so I mixed a 50/50 of fire red...and Water melon looked nice but I tthe pink flake still showed up more than I liked...now I'm set on tango red metallic from Audi for my truck..I think lol
