Bad Sag/Runs in BaseCoat: First time painting

H

So, until yesterday, I'd only sprayed primers. Everything was sanded flat and I was ready for my first go at a basecoat. I had so many runs that I gave up after the first coat. Shouldve stopped way sooner. My gun was not ajusted properly or I overthinned. I read barrys suggestion on gun adjustment and I plan to follow. What should I do next? Wet sand with 600 grit to remove runs? What happens when I cut through to the sealer?Im spraying and orange with somemetalics in it. If I just wetsand the entire thing, leaving color in spots and primer in others, will things be ok? Thanks for the help!

Can you call me to discuss?
600-1500 will work great and I would do the whole panel and do another coat or two.
Its all gun handling and I can help you on the phone easier then writing.

Barry will get your technique dialed in, what brand of basecoat?
