1968 Camaro

might be a while now..lol. owner just called me and says it is supposed to have the ss d90 stripe on it, not the d91 bumblebee stripe. from day one he has told me it takes the bumblebee stripe. upon further investgation of the cowl tag, it infact does take the d90 stripe.

wouldn't trade this job for the world! lol.

Is the d90 the one that extends down the side?

Looks great! I did one of those d90 stripes a few years back and didnt have anything to go off of other than the measurements from before we stripped it. Have fun and I know you can pull it off!

worms are tape plugging emblem holes. cant get from the backside and the emblem takes pushin clips.

yes the d90 extends down the door. gonna have to do some regrouping here. the entire "big" stripe for the d90 is bigger than the d91 stripe. will have to hang doors back on also. apprently NO ONE on the net has dimensions for this stripe either. only thing available is a stencil kit and those $100 kits arent worth the package they are shipped in.

people wonder why its by the hour and costs so much?

Did you save your measurements by chance?

I agree the stencil kits are crap. If it was the Z-28 stripe I could send you original patterns. The fender emblems originally got held on by speednuts but there's no access with the fenders installed. The stripes go on after the clear if the owner's after a somewhat original appearance-you could do the bc/cc disassembled then hang the doors and do the stripes after the buffing. It's all a lot of work.......hours upon hours

i think thats what is going to happen. would love to burry the stripe but, it is what it is at this point. I could just reclear the front clip/doors if he wants it burried.

settings on my camera werent set for the booth...makes it look real orange. even though it doest have a good bit of orange cast to it.

Looks great as usual. Having sprayed this car with the W400 and the vette with the LPH400 which do you like better and why? Sorry for the questions but I am wanting to buy a dedicated clear gun and have been leaning toward the SATA RP but still trying to research other great guns before I pull the trigger.

i still prefer my w400. suits my style better. i think the reason the lph worked good on the vette is because all the curves and angles...had to go a little slower and think more doing it. not sayin the w wouldn't have performed just as good.

the w400lv is, i think atleast, comparable to the old sata rps. I havent used a 3000 or 4000 so i dont know. i would guess thew new supernova would be comparable to the newer rps.

shot some pics of it outside..red looks a little better outside.

Used the wanda base on this. Took the sikkens colormap chip outside to check it and its dead on to what the code pulls up. I'm tellin you this stuff matches the sikkens chips better than sikkens itself. Atleast the colors i've used so far, thats my luck with it.

Owner called at the last minute, after he had talked to a friend (gotta love it) and said it takes the d90 stripe down the side. Being the weekend i had no way to get any sort of stencil so just sanded it off, rebased and cleared it. Will add it over the clear.

Universal clear with 3 coats.

thanks! will just cut and buff. Started with 800 on the mustang and worked up to 2500 and 3 coats performed very nice.

Unless the owner wants the stipe burried in clear, will have to reclear doors and front clip...might as well do the rest of the car. We'll see.
