1968 Camaro

Factory bench seat 4-speed. been in storage for 25 years. Even in storage, need almost full floor pan. Replaced trunk pan. Was a "drag" car in the early 70's before it was parked. Luckily they didn't do TOO much damage to it. One of the nicest bodies i've worked on. Decided to go all spi on this. Maybe even the red basecoat also. The owner is having second thoughts about the original red. Color in pictures is not the orig. color, has had 1 repaint.

thanks! we do our own blasting in house. i however do not do it personaly...i'll leave that to the ones who like/want to do it..lol.

you bet! It's amazing what a little blasting will do...no one ever thought it needed floors..we did see some scale and a few pinholes in the driver...thought that was going to be the only replacement. and guys wanna know why everything is by the hour.

finally got back on this thing. bodywork done, couple coats of slicksand and 3 coats of turbo primer.

I feel like one of these days I will have to look into blasting equipment as well, not that I like or want to do it, but it's getting harder and harder to get something blasted around here, and their are no options as well, either sand or soda, must not be much demand for anything else around here.

thanks bk!

some blackout and jammin'

firewall black is sikkens rally black mixed 4-1 with their mat paste...then the regular hardener and reducer mix. left the inside of the car and floors just spi black epoxy.

That Rally Black is the most durable satin black I've ever found. I heard Sikkens dropped their Autocryl single stage-true?, hope they don't discontinue the Rally Black.

make sure to install that heater assembly before the fender goes on!

it really is! i love it...love the spi epoxy also..they both have their place. they did discontinue the autocryl line...i think it was a stupid decision as their basecoat conversions to ss just dont match up imo. the black doesn't come close. the 242 autocryl was of the best ss black out there. i was told that the wanda single stage system is the autocryl system....not quite sure on that though i havent used any.

and no doubt on the heater.....been there done that!

Jeremy, I believe I saw on another post that you spray uv clear with w-400. Is that a w-400lv4? If so, what pressure & settings are you using? Thanks!

Interesting about the wanda SS, for what Sikkens is charging for the Rally Black it would be amazing if they've moved it into their economy line-just doesn't make sense?

i know right...just went up again.......104 bucks for a quart of the rally black.....thats just the color LOL. still need activator and reducer.

$102/quart here. Keep me posted on the Wanda SS if you try it. Bob

tcs auto...yes its the lv4 . pressure is between 28-30 lbs. fluid about 1.5 to 2 turns in from wide open. on the vette i used my lph400 with good results but i got the w400 fixed now so i'm rock n rolling with it!

but this is the factory 68 red so...owner likes it.
