1941 chrysler coupe build

We're at current date, well July this year. Time to cut the roof. First up though is stripping both pieces, filling the garnish molding, and shooting epoxy.

Some old JB weld type stuff to fill the pits............

That same fella that talked me into a split window also made a rendering photo of a chop top without cutting doors, A, B, or C pillars.....OK, I'll bite.
Since the door bottoms are so tall, the stock window openings seem to scale nicely. Here's a pic of it on the trailer coming home to get cut up.
She's got a tall roof above the drip rails up top and a hat box at the rear which needs to go for more sleek slope.

Here's the plan. Slice down the A pillar, remove a 2" chunk, slide it down and weld her back together. What could go wrong?

I guess we'll find out eventually..........

Dropped back down for a 2" shorter windshield and 1-1/2" lower roof.

A panel was made for below the window and tacked to the frame. That was screwed on to mock up the left and right panels.
I made a Burt Buck on one side and took some profile gauges from the shape created by the strips that comprise the buck.

.............and proceeded to screw up the first panel. Major shrinking required to save it.
