Working with Prospray 3.5 Base

I

I recently switched from Chromabase to Prospray 3.5. I based a panel last weekend in Prospray 3.5 metallic, and due to my senility, (improper re-assembling of my gun after cleaning) my gun sputtered on the last coat. I was planning to sand it with 400-600, hit it with a coat of epoxy sealer, and re-base. Will this work, or does the "no sand" rule apply to Prospray like it does with Chromabase?? Is one coat of sealer enough?

Thanks,

I coat until covered, then scuff the whole project with indasa foam pad, basically for trash but easier to do a quick scuff over the whole project for me then to just spot check, then I do another 2 coats.. I do use more base than most people by doing so, but more likely that I won't miss any spots this way, and I feel more confidence that coverage is achieved. Nothing I hate more than thinking you are covered, then clear and find one spot that isn't .

Thanks guys. So i guess i don't need to seal if i sand? What's your time window to sand, and what grit do you use?

Chad, are these the pads you are using? http://www.indasausa.com/en/page014.html

Not exactly, the main part number I use is 3000-800, but the 400 is nice occasionally and sometimes i'll grab a 1200 for certain metallics but very rarely as the 800 seems to work for just about everything.
.

Do you use the precut pads or the roll?
I put that link there to refer to the product, thanks for saying which grit you prefer.
Do you use thier full product line of abrasives?

thx.
