Will UC spray thru an Iwata air brush OK?

I've got some very minor touch ups, when buffing I ate away base (on an edge of course), what I 'd touched up on top of the clear underneath it - meaning it doesn't go all the way down to the original base where theres no clear on top of it.

Maybe I'm making a mess of my explanation, anyways I've cut & buffed the car & in 2 spots I need to base coat again, very minor, like pencil line thickness. I know I can airbrush the base on again but can I get away with just spraying enough clear to cover the new base & not have to spray the whole panel / area?

thanks, Evan

Very easily, just reduce till it sprays well. Do it all the time.

Lesson learned here Shine :mad::mad:

If I brush touch up, do base & clear that way? I assume a very small art brush would work?

you know, I had all the main edges taped & never even gave these a thought. One is the top edge for the door handle recess & the other is the bottom edge of the main body belt line. Their both about 1/2" in length spots.

Really I think whats happened is when I was originally sanding w/the DA & 500 grit on the 2nd coat of clear I burned thru those edges, then I touched them up w/base & the air brush (thought I was really slick & had saved my a**!) then I cleared it again w/2 more coats & thats what I buffed thru this time. Its so minor I'm tempted to leave it but I know it'll bug me cuz I know its there - stupid huh!

And I was feeling so good about having made it all the way around the car w/o burning thru an edge, go figure. Now I really understand why guys say they hate buffing!

If you wet the area with water does the cut through show? if not, just spray some clear over it.

ive blended many o jobs with an airbrush. use bleding solvent with the airbrush. if ur using iwatas, take off the back of the handle and pull the needle from the back and dont use the trigger, it will open up a little more then what the trigger would allow. u can get an almost invisible blend and melt it away and only have to hand rub it.

i pulled off a crazy one. i was doing a harley bagger, and the guy i helped on the job, burned it where the handle bolts to on the peak. so i blended the metallic color and candy with the airbrush, spotted the clear, all while the customer was on the way(a bike shop dealer)it took 25 mins, put alot of accelerator in the clear and hand rubbed afterward. bike left, and i was stress free. lol
