white epoxy topcoat

doing my first restore on an old fairlane and was going to paint it spi red. now i am re-thinking the spi red. i wish i had saved the original paint on this car because i am really liking the "survivor" look. i am leaning towards building a thunderbolt clone but i dont want it to look better than new. i want it to appear to have a little age. i have the car in spi black epoxy right now but i thought about shoting it with white and then lettering the car and sanding through some of the lettering to give it a little bit of a faded look. since the spi white epoxy has no uv, will it get chalky? will it have a weathered look due to no uv? do you think i could achieve an old look with it or do i need to just use a white base with matt clear?

Use the white epoxy, but I'd shoot some red oxide on first. Sand through or almost through the white in some areas to give it a thin old look, scrub it down really good with cleanser for some surface scratching, cut through to bare metal on some of the edges so you get some rust staining. After some use and neglect it should be looking a little ragged in no time.

Story of my life. :)

not that the epoxy will get chalky but the white will turn more and more yellow over time
