Which scuff pad for clear?

I have 3 layers of clear cured(24 hours) and I'm looking to scuff it in preparation for some design work. What pad would work well so I could spray my design (SPI white) then shoot more clear over everything?

When clear is to be re-cleared, it's a good idea to smooth out texture and orange peel, otherwise you may end up with more texture than you want. This means sanding sanding with sandpaper.

Im with Crash.. Hit it with 600 on a DA and your peel is gone, solvents escaped and ready for more layers.. A scuff pad is just going to slightly abraid the clear.. I would not go the scuff pad route

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but the above comment is something I am doing now. I sprayed my clear yesterday, but I have a ton of orange peel, and while wet sanding to try to remove orange peel, went through the clear into the base. I want to touch up the base and then reclear the entire panel. Do I need to eliminate all of the orange peel before I apply more clear? I just sanded it lightly with 800 grit (dry) so the new clear would adhere

If a good painter puts two full wet coats of clear on something, then he should be able to sand it flat with 600-800 with very little risk of breaking through, except perhaps on an edge or corner, which are usually avoided by a skilled prepper to prevent problems. So if you have broken through easily without eliminating orange peel, there was probably nowhere near enough clear to begin with. In a case like that, a scuff pad might be called for since anything else is going to pretty much sand through the finish, from the sound of it.
