When to seam seal?

I have some drip rails where the seam sealer has cracked due to the Cali sun. What's the preferred method to removing and putting in new sealer? Epoxy first, then seal, then 2k?

Anytime after corrosion removal and epoxy primer is OK in my book, preferably on scuffed epoxy within the recoat window.

So no issue laying on 2k after seam sealer?

The best surface to apply seam sealer is epoxy within it's recoat window, you can spray epoxy or any 2k over the seam sealer just keep in mind to keep it thin. Heavy primer over the sealer will often cause primer cracking down the road.

Thanks guys. I have not sanded down to see if the current sealer is in fact cracked, but the topcoats definitely are.
