when to rebuild/change nozzle, aircap and needle

What are some of the telltale signs that it is time to do a rebuild of your spray guns? I have been using the same guns for about 8 years and haven't done anything but clean them.
 
If they spray good rock on! I notice on some of my older guns the pattern will change when the needle and bushings wear out-pull the trigger and the needle pulls off center-time for a rebuild. Most of your wear is in the needle assembly, another area is how well the aircap fits the body and fluid nozzle-repeated disassembly can wear threads and more importantly sealing surfaces. Bottom line is: does it spray well?
 
sata nozzle sets tend to last awhile.. they just need the packing and stuff rebuilt and some of the seals.. im about to rebuild my iwata lph400 and just keep it as a clear gun.. its getting up there in age.. my packing is just about destroyed on this beast.
 
i use it when the needle feels sticky.. but that usually means i need to clean my gun better lol
