this is what I've been doing.. tell me if it's kosher
I LIGHTLY run over the area with my electric sander with 400 grit, just one or two passes to get the nibs off.
I then go to 600 (3m paper, wet) and wet sand until I see an even, flat surface. for the wet, I'm using a spray bottle with water, no bucket.
I have clean paper towels that I'm wiping away the slurry frequently
next, I'm using 1200 paper on the same rotary sander... one of these, not a DA, so it's not that agressive.
http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-D26451K-5-Inch-Random-Sander/dp/B0007XXHGO that is a da, da's orbit. rotarys don't.
after that, I'm going to wet sand with a block at 2000
THEN the compound on a wool pad
then the polish on a foam pad
sound like a plan?
sound like a disaster?
