What are ya'll using for top coats 1.3 or 1.4 ?

There are NOOO wrong answers here, I am just curios what you guys prefer a 1.3 or 1.4 for base and clear?

I am still somewhat of a slow shooter since I am a novice. Should I spend the $110 for a 1.4 set up for the LPH-400 Iwata?

Or should I just work on perfecting gun control (my largest inconsistent variable by far) LOL
 
SPI recommends 1.4 tips, but many use 1.3 tip with good results. I use a 1.4, but usually keep it turned in pretty far, so it could be that a 1.3 running closer to wide open would work OK for me.

How do you think the 1.4 will help you?
 
I use a 1.4 for base, sealer, single stages and clear.. I adjust mine per a spray pattern, however I dont choke it out either.. Gotta be able to spray a thin wet coat and keep a wet edge..

Anyone south of the mason dixen line as Barry puts it I believe lol, where the temp and humidity compete with eachother a 1.3 in summer can spell disaster..

If you live in Northern states or canada and talk funny ( In the south, there is how we speak and then the rest of ya'll :) ), then a 1.3 is probably not gonna be an issue..

I can run clear well enough with a 1.3

That 1.4 Just scares me!
 
I clear with a 1.4 and i run it wide open. In the instuctions it says to use a 1.4 so there must be some meaning to it.

I base and seal with a 1.3
