Wanda basecoat appearance

Spayway being safe is unofficial and from my own observation and testing only. I'd be interested to see if anyone would confirm it with their own testing.

I've never had a problem with it. The foaming action reveals contamination. I've seen people using IPA as a pre-base cleaner.
Also, I've learned not to use 700 on fresh clear. Only 710 to check for buffing progress.
 
Your tape would not stick after the windex due to the moisture. Its much worse if its cool and humid out. Even if the part seems dry, moisure will penetrate into the surface. You will find the same thing happens with just about anything water base. The 700 will do it, sprayway and about any other water w&g remover.
 
I use a 3 part mix of water-spi 700-windex in a spray bottle just before base to clean up sandind dust with plenty dry time before base.One thing to remember is by the time you get to this point it better be clean and contamination free. This is a tip I picked up years ago as a light fininal wipe.
