using epoxy on plastic side trim moldings.

Have a Jeep Cherokee I'm just finishing up and checking on options for painting the side trim moldings. If I use a adhesion promoter and then just some black epoxy will that look correct/ok and last, instead of the spray bomb method ?

It will work, just let the epoxy induce over nigh for total safety and longer life.
This is actually being done for the big three by a company that makes trim pieces, they did all the testing because i refused to and it holds up better then trim paint.

So mix epoxy and activator at 1:1 and let sit overnite before spraying ? Is this just for better adhesion ? thx Barry

Will this method work for plastic interior trim pieces as well? Thanks, Mitch.

Nothing to do with adhesion but chalking down the road.

Some it can.
Thanks Barry. I'm wondering how flexible the epoxy is. Should it be reduced to help with it flowing into the grain?

The epoxy is very flexible at 4 inch thick. Thinning so not to hide the grain is a great idea.
