Top coat over sealer

How long should I wait to top coat over a coat of reduced sealer? Is should I wait overnight, or can I top coat in a matter of hours?

Also what is the mixture ratio on reducing epoxy sealer? Is it 1 part epoxy, one part activator, and 2 parts reducer?

2 hours is what the tech manual recommends, IIRC. It's on SPI's main page, and it's reading through a couple times. Lots of good information on not only their products, but how to spray and such.

1 part epoxy, 1 part activator, up to 50% reducer depending on how you like to spray.

Mix 1:1:1 and you could safely base in 30 minutes, done every day.

Good to know. I usually go by the book until I feel comfortable with my skill, then I start trying a new thing or two. Finding things out the hard way can set you back quite a bit sometimes!

I see what you mean. Once you spray the epoxy 1:1:1 is like a thin coat of basecoat that flashes off pretty quick, but yeah if you overlap certain areas you end up with more build and you'll be better with waiting longer than 30 mins.

I've definitely learned the hard way on flash times. Wrinkling, solvent pop, it all makes for a terrible day. I'm just lucky I am never rushed on anything, I can let things flash overnight easily. I imagine in the actual industry it's a bit more time sensitive.
