Top Coat Epoxy Primer

I'm getting ready to shoot some epoxy primer on firewall and cowl areas that has been sanded down to bare metal on a restoration, the question is can I mix the epoxy 1:1 and shoot the base coat over the epoxy or do I have to shoot some epoxy, 2k primer and then the base. There is minimal bodyfiller in these areas but most of it will be covered up and will not be seen.

Just Shoot base over the epoxy, most of us are using reduced epoxy as our final sealer it works really well. If you shoot over 1:1 you will have a little more orange peel to deal with but if it wont be seen than nothing to worry about

Thanks, that's what i'll do.

It's almost certain that an area that has been taken down to bare metal and had body filler applied to it will need sanding and repriming at the very least, if not some remedial work to fill pinholes and other small imperfections. Don't rush to apply paint, take a good look at your epoxy, and if it doesn't look as good as you would like the finished product to be, you probably need to do some more work.
