Tints and Pigments compatible with Euro Clear 2.1

I'm looking for advice as to what I could add to this clear, or another product compatible with this clear. I finish guitars but have never shot anything with color added in the sprayable product. I usually always dye the wood first and simply build coats of clear over it. Right now I specifically need to spray some very dark tint or opaque color over an existing build up of Euro Clear. I have a lot of Transtint, but I have read mixed information about this dye being or not being compatible mixed in with a product like Euro Clear, so I don't want to chance it. I'm not sure if even something like Dupli-color cans or the like would be an option compatible with Euro. I'm open to any and all options. Just mostly concerned about compatibility.

i have used transtint dyes in spi clears before. it has been years since i used that brand but they are basically all the same. as long as the tint isnt made for waterbase then it will mix in. you can mix in dyes as well as pigments. just be sure its meant for solvent and your good.

Thanks for this. I have heard others say this with other clear manufactures but no one with experience using SPI products. Transtint info states known incompatibility with "2K (2-component) polyurethane finishes". I think there is confusion on the inter-webs when someone refers to something as a 2K polyurethane.
Do you have any experience with a pigmented product that can be added that you prefer? Or is it best to buy as far as quality something premixed?

well i used to use valspar wood finish line. all industrial stuff. they sold to axalta. i really like the paint line but my local dealer here got out of the wood finish business so now i really cant find it anywhere which forced me to basically get out of doing any kind of wood finish. their line used opticolor xp tints for your solids. they have concentrated gallons of dye which i have been unable to locate as well. for you though, in smaller amounts you can use any of the automotive candy dyes like hok or alsa. they are exactly the same as the wood finish stuff. for actual pigments, other than the opticolor xp i am at a loss. if you need a solid color then i would just buy a single stage poly.

Great info. Thank you for the input and guidance.
