Thoughts on using Turbo for the first time

Trying to be the best me, I can be
Just wanted to share with you my thoughts on using the Turbo 2K primer today for the first time. It's been kinda slow at the Shop for the last week or so, so the Owner thought it would be a good time to take his 98 Corvette and do something with it. Actually we just started out swapping out the seats for ones he had re-covered and it kinda morphed in a full blown color change. Lamborghini Balloon white pearl with a matte clear. So I've been thrashing trying to get everything done while we got some down time. After DA'ing the car and applying 2 coats of SPI white epoxy I shot the Turbo this morning. Being there was no real bodywork to be done save for some curb rash on one rocker, I didn't really want to use Poly and figured this would be a good reason to try out the Turbo. First thing I noticed was how much thicker the product is (unreduced, unmixed) than what i have been using for 2K. Shot 3 coats with a 1.7 gun figured that might be a little small but it went on great. Really sprays nice and levels out beautifully. Shop was warm (75 or so) so I gave it 5 hours and figured I'd block the hood before I left for the day. I say block but with a C5 hood there isn't a flat area on it so I used a 11' flexible Durablock. Seeing how the hood was in pretty decent shape I figured I'd use 320 and see if I could get it blocked out or fairly close. I was really surprised how easy it sanded, the 320 cut like a champ. Probably could have done the whole hood without changing paper but did so anyways 3/4 through it. Love the way it sands and the fact it drys so quickly. Build is equal to or better than what I expected. Just a really nice 2k surfacer. I'll be using more.

Yep good primer. Mix 4:1:1 give it good flash time and most of the jobs will sit over night before sanding but also will abuse on rush jobs.

Chris, Im going to order some. My first gallon of SPI 2k Primer was going to be regular 2K but somehow we got mixed up and I ended up with high build. Went ahead and used it and loved it. Now thinking Im going to try the Turbo instead of the High Build for my next try.

Chris I thought you used SPI before this. You are in for a real treat, glad you like it so far.
