The tack rag causing wrinkle issue

Lol please don't jinx me with fish eyes! I completely unfold it and stretch it all out and refold it in a loose bunched up type way. I never keep them packed tightly together like when you first unwrap one.

Also thank you for the dedication towards helping us, and standing behind your products. I know besides my jobber during the week, I can't call whose paint we spray and ask for help like this, or get ahold of during the weekend. It's appreciated!

don't refold, wade up, like the things the wife has in shower they use in place of wash cloths.
The work way better that way and less likely to have a wax problem.
Also never push let the weight of the cloth slide over area, this will not work folded up.

I take no credit for the tack cloth info, about 20 years ago I did a paint class in AL one night for painters and the VP of a tack cloth company was there, he invited me the next day to his plant as he had them else where but this was first in south, can't remember the town or the company, want to say Dacko or detro, spent about 4 hours with him in the plant and learned a bunch.

I think it might be the basecoat overspray giving you some kind of texture since you spray the hood one side, then the other. Try doing it from one edge to the other.

No it's not the over spray. We spray water which levels about as smooth as you can get when flashed. It's baby smooth. You don't get any texture like solvent might leave.

When it does it, it first lies smooth then almost looks like a reaction to something. Then very slowly tries to level. Where as overspray would leave it rough from the get go.

It's something being left behind. I've painted on over 1000 cars and this is just recently an issue.

I have that same exact thing from time to time and couldn't figure it out. I thought it was from double coating like spraying a hood and when I start on the other side of the hood where I overlap? It will look glass slick then from 30 minutes to a few days afterwards it will do it . I also thought I might be spraying my base too wet too? I use solvent base only.
