Talc in 6620 epoxy primer?

Just wondering if there is talc in the 6620? I assume it would be filler, correct?

Thanks a lot! :)

I will say no,, Its not a building primer to begin with and nothing will compete with it industry wide bro.. Talc is for a babys ass not SPI epoxy

I was asking because I sprayed a couple coats on my car the other day; it was only about an hour before it got rained on. That caused white spots all over it. I put up a thread on another forum asking what the consequences were, and someone said that if epoxy has talc in it, it's not waterproof. So, I was curious.

I wasn't insinuating it does contain talc, just wanted to confirm. I believe talc is used as a filler in some paints and I'm fully aware what talc is for.

Thanks.

Epoxy is highly resistant to water and many common solvents, it just has to be cured first.

As a matter of fact, it can be used in totally immersed applications (once cured).

It's a slow material, so it's best to keep it inside for a couple days unless the weather is real nice.

SPI epoxy has no talc and is totally water proof.

Sorry I did not answer earlier but it was a first post and no explanation and I had no idea, why you were asking. I responded to your email, a minute a go and you have nothing to worry about.

For the rest of you, he applied two coats of epoxy and then it rained on it and he has some with spots.
This happens once a week in the boat industry, in South GA and FL, no problem at all, just scuff the whit spots off and paint or primer, in his case, could be a vinyl top installed and I said just leave as is.

this raises a good question, imo. as the op said..someone told him that talc in epoxy means that it isn't waterproof. Is there any truth to that? From what i can see, every major epoxy that i've used (other than spi) has talc in it...ppg, rm, glasurit, lesonal, sikkens.

If it did, would not totally kill it but most epoxy don't fill, so I really doubt anyone is stuffing it with talc.

Could be, I don't really know, as only one I looked at, was a high build and that is why I would not do, because it got weak.
