Has anyone used Strip Klean Prep all degrease and wax removal? I have new metal tanks and fenders to remove it before sanding then shoot epoxy. Thanks

I use it and it works great for me. I used it on my bare metal, and then SPI waterborne and then put the epoxy on there.

Ideally if you have both you use waterborne first (SPI 700) then a solvent based W&G remover.

As to the OP's question, it will work. Be sure to use a quality wipe and never use microfiber towels.

You made me go look. The instructions on the SPI site say to use waterborne last, then let it sit 45-60 minutes.

I'm sure either way will work, but that's the official SPI document that says do it that way. And for bare metal it says don't use any other cleaner besides waterborne.

Prepping the Surface: When prepping for epoxy always sand with 80 grit DA paper for bare metal, sand with 180-320 for paint or primer. Metal must be clean of all rust, oils, and any films. Never clean metal with lacquer thinner, acetone or reducers of any kind. Clean surface with SPI 700-1 Waterborne Wax and Grease Remover and let sit for 45-60 minutes before applying epoxy.
