I have a lot of questions, I'm posting them here first because I usually get the best painting advice. For those who paint motorcycle tanks what is your spray pattern. I have a five and a half gallon bulbous tank. So do you spray the center underside first with clear tape it off and then do the top side? If painting in colder temps outside 55-65 degrees F does the flash time change a lot? Is Maxx solv 5900 wax and grease remover safe to use between base coats and before clear and after clear if. I don't really get the timing with the cut and buff. The guy at the paint shops said with the UV clear I could have a few weeks of time before I had to cut and buff the tank and seat if I kept them out of the sun light. Reading the perfect paint job, seems like that's no where in there. Has anybody ever sprayed a design over carbon fiber? The seat I'm sure will have the nice shinny gloss coating from the resins and possible be protected from UV damage. Anyways I want to paint two white scallops but show a lot of the carbon fiber off. I think I should tap out the design that I want then sand that part. Then I guess go straight base coat and last clear the whole seat? What do you think about that? Has anybody done pinstripes with a hvlp gun?
Guys I know that's a ton of questions and I apologies. I hope this is in the right section. Thanks for reading.... Collin
