Spraying body panels separately

I'll be painting my truck in the next month or so. I'm currently working on the bed first, should be ready for bc in the next week or so. My question is can I get away with painting the bed now and painting the cab later and not worry about the color not matching? I'll be using ppg deltron, and purchase all my paint at once so it will come from the same batch. Reason for spraying separately this is that I have limited space.

Thanks

Depends on the color. Most solids if applied the same way (same number of coats, flash times, etc.) shouldn't be a problem. Metallics and pearls, more tricky. Candies, very challenging.

i paint in pieces and sometimes months apart. i think putting color up in qrts does a lot in keeping the color match. use the right undercoat and count your coats.

i painted this one in pieces . did the bed and fenders moths later. 56 done.jpg

I am contemplating do this with a car i am doing now. I did it with a complete I did a few months back and the job came out a TON cleaner. I spray in my garage.

This new car is going to be a metallic base(dark pewter). My garage is heated and the car will be completly painted within 2 weeks so I may give it a shot!

I just love how clean they come out when panel painted.
