spraying a car

guys when spraying a car in what order should it be painted? I guess the jambs first then roof and anywhere from there? Or should the panels be sprayed in a certain order? This is my first job so I have no idea. Thanks for any input.
 
Air flow will often dictate where you should start and end. Are you spraying in pro-booth, home-made or none at all?

Rodman, that makes sense to me, but I'm still dumber than a rock when it comes to it.

So in which order would you spray in a cross-draft booth, I'm very curious to know now?

i'm going to use a home made booth with an exhaust fan at one end and a filtered intake on the other. The reason I asked was that I was told by an amatuer painter that the "proper" way was to spray in this certain sequence (i cant remember what he said or his reasoning) like roof, hood, l/h qtr, etc. I thought it sounded like bs but I thought I'd ask how people on here spray a car. I would think you would jamb it, then start with the roof, hood, deck lid, then pick a side and go from there.
 
I believe the idea is to keep overspray from falling onto your already painted areas. The air flow should carry your overspray toward the unpainted areas of the car.

X2. I always spray following first airflow then gravity. If I'm spraying in a crossdraft booth as you described (say front of car near exhaust of booth) I start at back of car and work my way forward leap-frogging from side to side as I go to keep everything as wet as possible; ie start at back bumper, work up to rear deck lid goto drivers quarter the jump to passenger quarter then back to drivers side and so on. The slower the material you use the easier this will be.
