Spray Technique for Small Enclosed Area

Hey Guys - I need some tips.
How do you paint a small enclosed area such as the Spare Tire Well on my Triumph? My typical setup is gun, regulator (pinch valve with pressure gauge), and in-line filter before my air hose. How can you paint such a narrow enclosed area and get relatively even spraying. It doesn't need to look perfect but I need a decent coat of color and clear on the inside of this well. What would be your equipment setup and painting technique for this little area? Thanks.

Ouch! How did you shoot the primer in there? Reminds me of some cabinets with fixed shelves I had to spray. Have a small gun you can get in with? Maybe put a 90 degree swivel temporarily on the gun to help manage the hose. I might try adjusting the fan out to a round, up the pressure a bit and go long distance. Just thinking out loud, not trying to be a wise guy.

Rotate air cap close to parallel with gun handle so you can lean the gun over. Turn pattern(fan) down to a small round even pattern with enough air to atomize properly. Work from the farthest in back first ,then top ,sides next, bottom last, that will help make it more manageable and less prone to draging your hand through it.take it easy and pay close attention to your spray pattern overlap an pattern consistency, not to dry and not to wet.

Another issue you can have in really tight areas it may seem that the paint won't go into really tight corners. The air pressure is to high and causes a vortex, turn down your air pressure and it will solve the problem.

Aim plenty of light in there so you can see what your doing. It will probably come out better that you expect.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try spraying this weekend and circle back with my progress. Much appreciated.
