SPI SS flat black

S

Steves69LS3

hey guys i shot my glove box door and ash tray for my 69 camaros dash.

i mixed the SS flat black 6:1 and i absolutely love the way it turned out!

i shot 2 quick panels one with it mixed at the lowest 4:1
and the next at the highest 8:1
the first was a little too shiny for what i was looking for and the 8:1 was very flat
so i decided to shoot a third in the middle at 6:1 and i was super happy with it so that was my deciding ratio

here are some pics about 12 hours after the last coat

Nice Steve!

Sometimes a close up picture will show peel that is not there, so I don't know if panels are slick or a little peel.
This stuff you should spray wet, just like a clear, as it can't streak.

Thanks Barry!

I went and looked at them earlier today and there is ZERO orange peel :encouragement:

my settings did let it lay slick as you know the RP is a very fast gun so i slowed my passes down so it would be less chance for me to get a run:eek:

I wanted to get a pick out in the sun but the clouds rolled in fast. so i turned on every light i have in the garage and set them on the roof of the car.Dashboard.jpg

is there a recoat window on this paint? i sprayed another panel with 2 coats and i have a little blemish i would like to take care of but the weather got a little too cool until tomorrow. do i have to scuff or can i lay another coat over it without scuffing?

thanks

Without sanding, no more then 24 hours for an interior panel and 8 hours for an exterior panel, would be more then safe.
