Can this be sanded before clearing to get any junk out. Or do I have to recoat the sanded areas.

Yes as long as you don't break through or get a spot to thin where you can see through it.
 
So I will be able to clear over the sanded basecoat. I just want to make sure because I have only used PPG and DuPont and you can't clear over it.

Can I sand SPI black basecoat? NO, cuz cooter and bubba haven't visited Barry yet.
 
If Barry ever makes black base, he will need to buy his own FedEx terminal to get it shipped out. He'd need to put in a few extra phone lines. James would need several attractive female assistants....

I guess I can't sand it before clearing.
 
I just think its too risky. Hard to tell if anywhere is thin. I always spray another coat after i sand/nib no matter what base system it is. Just makes me feel safer. Just my opinion!

WHEN Barry makes up a bathtub of black base I think that it will be ordered in 4 gal lots by most.
A nice dark metallic graphite base would be nice too BARRY!
 
when in doubt spray it !!! it takes 10 min to mix and dust a coat over the sanded area . beats sanding clear and doing it later.

Sanding can slightly affect the color of even a solid color base, it's best to put at least one more coat over any sanded area.
 
I haven't had a chance to open the cans of the Red I bought from you guys. Well I did today. The red is amazing. It's just what I wanted.
