Specific question about intercoat

my project is about ready to spray.

I plan to seal the entire car in white epoxy. Basecoat. Mid coat and then intercoat clear and some dry pearl graphics. 3 colors. Then euro clear. Cut it down and re clear...so now my question...

Can you spot in intercoat clear for graphics? Should you mask adjacent panels? Specifically speaking, I want to put some pearl graphics on the sail panel (area between back passenger window and rear window) ...do I need to intercoat the whole quarter and mask off the door and trunk? Or can I just spot in the area and do my tape work and not worry about the overspray that will land on the adjacent panels...

To keep it neat and clean, I would mask and apply to the complete quarter. That is the safest way. You could apply it in the specific area only, but you would need to make sure you have feathered out the edge. Meaning you want a soft edge. Too much on the edge and it will show after you clear it.

Thanks that was exactly my concern. Showing after I clear. Just needed someone to tell me to stop being lazy
