Trying to be the best me, I can be
OT but maybe some of you will enjoy this. Short film of a Gent doing an absolutely illegal drive in early morning Paris. All of this is real and filmed in real time through the streets of Paris. I won't give away the one thing done for effect but irregardless it will have you clenching your cheeks for 8 minutes wondering who is this madman? Film is called "C'ETAIT UN RENDEZ-VOUS" or just "Rendezvous". I had heard about this for years when reading Car and Driver but never thought to look for it on Youtube till this weekend. It's only 8 minutes long so doesn't take a big commitment. Enjoy.

1976 if I'm not mistaken. And done in August on a Sunday morning, when traditionally the French all take vacation for most of the month. One interesting factoid was that when the film was released (guy was a real filmmaker not just a banzai driver) the French Police arrested him for reckless driving. And the sounds in the film are from a Ferrari 275 but the actual car used was the filmmakers Mercedes. And I don't think he hit any pigeons either.:)
 
That guy passed me on the way home from picking up Chinese dinner yesterday. He stopped for the red light in a right hand turn lane so he could jump the other lanes when it turned green. Had I been next to him it would have been a fun drag race.
 
Glad to watch it again.Watched it full screen and noticed not 1, but 2 Mustangs. Didn't know that many made it to Paris in the 70s. Theres a 69-70 at 1:55 and a 71-73 at 5:34.
