I also have to say this is my last personal project like this, I tried to give it a little bit of street/strip rod feel, but after this is done i'm going to get some of my older iron fixed up.

I have a good start on my 72 dodge p/u, but i'm really anxious to start my 37. Will be a fun project.

what did that air cleaner "base" come off of? been looking for something like that for one of my projects...

Thanks, excited to finish it, mostly because at this point i'm tired of working on it and want to work on one of my other trucks. lol

Haha. no, I cheated on those, those are trailer fenders, can buy at pretty much any farm supply store, they are nice because the inner lip is rolled and the outter is 90 degrees so it gives a good place to do spot welds, and they are fairly thick. Can't go wrong for the price either.

Got a lot done today as well, had some help, dave put a new master cylinder on it, the brakes were sticking, changed out the jets, i buffed the bed, installed gate, did some other odds and ends..

Tried to put the cover on it but it was wrong, going to return tomorrow and pick up the correct one. Should be coming off the hoist soon and going into the wash bay.

great idea. thank you!

You can also get the double fenders and splice in the middle if you want a similar look, but instead of going back down over tire it goes straight to firewall, but then you almost need to do a filler behind tire so it doesn't look too open.

Creative way to use trailer fenders and not look like they are!

Nice work!
