Shop line paint

I am about to paint my 66 fastback and my local paint supplier sells shop line paint products and PPG. There is a significant cost difference between the 2 ( 3 times more for PPG) . Any opinions on this brand or something less expensive than PPG?
 
I used the automotive art motobase this week on a first paint job. Nothing to compare it to, but it was really easy to use and covered very well. I think it was fully covered it two coats , I went ahead and shot a third just as a precaution.

would recommend. Kind hard to get it Dallas, I had to drive about an hour (one way) to get it in Fort Worth.

Rick, Did you purchase it from a paint store or a body shop in fort worth?
 
first I called Automotive Art to find a distributor. They said English color in Richardson could help me and they said they could on the phone. When I when to English color, (it’s about 15 minutes from my house ) to place the order they had a ton of excuses why they couldn’t do it.

called Automotive art again and the gave this body shop in Fort Worth. The guys name was Ahmed. He was very helpful. $1600 for 2 gallons of Sassy Grass Green motor base and 2 gallons of reducer. Ahmed even gave me a large handful of mixing sticks, strainers and mixing cups. Way more than I needed. He was great , spent a lot of time with me and even walked me through his mixing process with his mixing bank..

only down side was it’s about a 2 hour drive round trip and I had to do it twice because he didn’t quite have enough of one of the yellow pigments to make a full 2 gallons. Not a big deal , well worth it..

I think they were pushing the PPG deltron line , but it was $1200 a gallon. Then they went to Omni , but the guys on this forum didn’t talk very highly of that. I was set on getting the motobase by that point so I was going to make that happen one way or another.
