Hello,
So I am getting ready to start the bodywork on my Thunderbird. What grits of sandpaper should I buy, going from epoxy, body fill, poly primer, 2k primer, basecoat, ect? I am asking so I don't buy any unnecessary grits. My black diamond sanding blocks are getting bored sitting in the box.

Thanks,
Al

If you are doing poly I will add 120 is nice to break the crust, then it sands readily with 180-220.

Otherwise I have exactly as 1A listed.

I buy 120 and 180/220 in rolls for blocking and everything is in sheets for hand sanding or scuffing.

I think I have every grit from 36 to 600 for hand, block and air file use.
Then 1000, 1500, 2000 for hand wet sanding.
Also have 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 film discs for DA sanding.

Not that I use them all on every project but over the years you accumulate supplies.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at the Sunmight sandpaper. Which is the better choice, Film or Gold?
