Sanding supplies

I'm about to buy sandpaper for a complete respray of my car (Acura Integra). The car needs some some body repair (rust spots, minor dents, stripping of hood & roof) and will be coated in epoxy, 2K primer, sealer, basecoat, clearcoat. You can see the car here: http://www.spiuserforum.com/forum/we...repainting-car

Can you confirm this is the correct grit progression?

EPOXY
P80 - strip paint / bare metal prep for epoxy
"red" scuff pad - prep for filler/primer in contoured areas
P180 - existing paint prep for epoxy / prep for filler/primer (if epoxy has sat for 7+days) /

2K URETHANE PRIMER
P180 - initial primer block sand
P320 - block sand primer
P400 - prep for sealer

SEALER
P600 - prep for basecoat

BASE COAT

CLEARCOAT
P1500 - wet sand clearcoat
P2000 - wet sand clearcoat

How much of each should I get in discs (DA/RO sander) and rolls or sheets?

I made some edits to the above based on some further reading. Besides reviewing the above steps, I have some specific questions:

1) Should I add an interim step to my primer block sanding (e.g. P220)?
2) At what grit should I move to a wet/dry paper (P400 or 600)?
3) Which will I use the most of? In other words, which should I purchase in bulk rolls vs sheets?
4) Besides 80 grit, what else should I get for my DA or Random Orbit (RO) sander? Which steps would you use a RO on?
5) My RO has a 5-inch pad, should I upgrade to a 6-inch? PSA or hook & loop?
6) Favorite blocking boards/tools?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to save trips to the store and consolidate online orders.

Looks like you have everything in order, I would look at buying all the DA paper by the box to save money as you will use more than you think,
Wet sanding paper buy the 1/2 sleeves.
Most important is find out what brands are available at a jobber near you an d then we can give advice on the better choice for the different grits for life of paper and save you some money.

I would get Trizact 3000 and 5000 discs. I hate buffing and they minimize it.

I agree here. I didn't think 3000 would do much until I tried it, along with 5000, and I was surprised at how fast the final shine came up.

PSA really blow if you are wet sanding anything. We get the 3M 05777 intermediate pad, really nice.Last thing you want is to be on your final sanding path and have a disc fly off and end up with backing pad only. Only thing nicer is sticking a piece of PSA paper on a trizac foam disc. Just dont leave it on long after its done or you separate the foam on the Trizac disc.

Last stuff I tried from amazon was a disc called sharkxskin that were pretty nice, last a long time. they had 180 and 240 before jumping to the really fine.
