Sanding and polishing UV clear with flattening agent in it??..

Ok, I am sure you read this title and thought, what the hell is this dude thinking. Anyways, has anyone tried to sand and polish a flattened clear to bring it to a shine?

I am asking because I am doing a custom mountain bike and the look I am going for has certain parts flat and some shiny, but I want the edge between the flat and gloss clear to be non existent. I was just curious if it was even possible to do before I waste a Saturday evening doing a test panel, lol!

You wont waste a saturday doing a test panel for the people that would waste a saturday doing a test panel.

Considering its hard to even wipe off a matte coating without effecting its appearance, I would think no.

Have you thought about a pinstripe?

That edge will stick out like a sore thumb when you are done.

It would have to be done like a two tone. If you could pull the tape off while the clear was still wet, the edge will lay down some, but it will never be invisible.
