rough glass

I have a hand laid L88 hood that had to be stripped to remove old lacquer .I found a lot of filler that was used to level up a LOT of waves. After removing all the old filller and redoing the body work with Evercoat 870 I would like to use a thin coat of evercoat quantum 1. I have never used this before and don't know if I should apply a couple of coats of epoxy before using the quantum ? Also all of this rough sanding has left a lot of exposed coarse hairs. Can these be locked down with epoxy or would something like Feather fill do better? Thanks .

In the past, evercoat g-2 has worked great for me, it does a lot to lock stuff down & makes quicker work of finishing off areas that normally would still need a skim coat of filler before any primers.

BUT, next time around here, I'll be starting off with epoxy first in the customizing, repairing processes. Getting my first spi order delivered this week..:cheerful:

yup, a coat or two of epoxy then use the quantum. get the quantum to 120 grit finish then coat with featherfill g2. take that to 180-220 grit then urethane prime.
