I sanded thru one coat of clear to a previous coat of clear when I repaired a panel. I can see the ring between the clears. Should I shoot some base and then reclear or should I just shoot some clear over the problem area.

If you wet down that area with water does the ring disappear?

I sanded it again and you can barely see it. You have to catch the light just right. I wet it down with water and it seems to disappear and I hit it with some wax and grease remover and it seems to disappear.
I am going to hit it with a thin coat of clear to see what happens. If that works I will add some more clear and if it dosen't I wll base and then clear. Either way I am spraying something today.

Clearcoated the are and everything disappeared. I then sprayed the whole quarter and buffed it out. Can't see anything.
