Question on spraying glue

I've seen upholstery guys spray glue for headliners and fabric. Usually out of an old siphon gun. Are they just using thinned down contact cement with a big tip? Anybody do this and know the products and process please enlighten us!

yes. i use an old binks #7 . depending on what your doing you can shoot it straight or thin some with lacquer thinner.

some of the aerosol versions are crap, shine what brand do you use?

Thinking on this further I wonder if you could use one of those cans you pressurize yourself with air("hot shot" brand comes to mind) and spray the glue effectively. I'd also like to know what brand Shine or anyone else uses. I think Weldwood Contact Cement in two versions is usually available at Lowes or Home Depot.

i get it at the same place i buy upholstery supplies. i'm pretty sure the last i bought was 3m . but i do use the top and trim glue. it wont let go like the spray can stuff.
