Process for ghost pearl over 2 year old Universal Clear

I have a truck which was BC'd two years ago using 4 coats of Universal Clear. Now I would like to add some ghost pearl graphics to the hood and tailgate areas. First of all can this be applied to the old finish and recleared? If so, what would you recommend as the steps to follow? I know that I would have to get any wax or grease off, but what does it need to be scuffed with? Do I have to limit the total number of new coats of pearl / clearcoat?
Thanks for any advice you might offer!

sand each panel completely with 600-800 grit. do you graphics and reclear....simple. you can do another 3 coats no problem.

Should the graphics be applied with intercoat clear , then buried with UV ?

I'd assume the material used to create a ghost flame would be a small amount of pearl suspended in a few coats of intercoat, which would then be cleared. Unless it needs to be taped on there's no reason for any more intercoat other than as the vehicle for the pearl. If the edge needs to be gone, just wetsand the clear after the graphics have been cleared and apply 2-3 more coats.
