Primer Spray Guns.

I do not see a thread on this subject of which I think will help many new people like myself.

So I thought I would put this up for discussion the new 3M™ Accuspray™ System which has a disposable atomizing head.

Here is a Demo of it by 3M. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrH_6ttt06k

i bought a viper gun from northern tools. cheap at 44. normally i dont like cheap guns but this one so far has done great. it is a 2.3 for my epoxy .

Oh my gosh the world has come to an end. Shine I never thought I would see the day lol. :).

hey at 44 bucks i can buy a new one for each job . but i'm a hoser. use to use a 2 qrt pressure pot to shoot with. so i wanted a big gun. saw this thing and said what the heck. i can put one serious coat of epoxy on with this thing.

Shine, how long would you have to wait before recoating with all that solvent at once?

Shine well heck glad to see you endorse a cheap primer/epoxy gun. I will have to go take a gander at them. :)

i only do one coat at a time then block. i shoot early am then block the next day then wait until the next morning to reshoot. i am considering an iwata primer gun but i'm tight as last years hay bails.

but the hf purple gun is a screaming pos !!! the one i bought had a terrible hunting accident .

I bought an Iwata LPH440 primer gun with a 1.5 tip a few years ago. It's my most used and favorite gun. I used to buy a 100 dollar gun each year because that is how long they last before I started having trouble. The needle is just getting broke in on the Iwata and it makes a great sealer gun. Pattern is just like my w400 or probably any of the lph400 since they all look the same. Guys at the paint store thought I was from mars ordering a 300 dollar primer gun though.

i was the same way. kept pissing money away till i got a sata primer gun with another set of needle/tip/cap for a poly set up. Primer gun gets used more than anything in the shop and still sprays like new. Really makes a difference you are priming a whole car...i have a few cheapies laying around that get used for smaller stuff.

i have an old binks 2 qrt pressure pot with an early hvlp 2.0 develbis gun on it. it is by far the best heavy gun i own but a pia to clean. i dont do enough any more to warrant using it or buying a new gun.

Interesting concept. I am in the market for a primer gun. It appears this item is a 1.8 tip. Will this tip work ok with spi primers?

I like 2.0 or bigger.. Ive tried smaller tips in cheap guns and they just dont cut it for me.. Now maybe a sata or Iwata 1.8 may do the trick in the high end market but in cheapo's ive always needed the larger tips for high build primers and polys

i have a sata klc p for poly which is a fuckin hoser... and i also have an iwata lph440 with a 1.6 that i use for most epoxies/2k/ dtm primers.
