Primer and sealer color selection

This is my first attempt at painting a car. My project is a Miata (crystal white UC). The original paint is failing which is a known flaw in its model year. So it is being stripped to bare metal, body work done and repainted OEM color.

What do you pros suggest as the best color choices for the epoxy primer and 2k primer? It seems good practice to use a seal coat also. I would likely use a thinned version of the epoxy.

My goal is quality and durability over price point.

Although white would cover the easiest for the final sealer, gray would probably be best, as the original was likely gray. This would give the closest match to OEM if the base happens to be translucent. The color of the 2K doesn't matter, I usually give a few heavy coats of gray 2K, followed by a thin coat of black 2K. This gives me a built in guide coat.

It depends on your eyesight and the lighting where you work. For where I paint and my vision--I use gray epoxy primer first--I use yellow buff color for contrast on the 2K primer and would use any left-over gray epoxy primer and mix in with white epoxy primer for a sealer shade.

If I was doing the job, the undercoat color wouldn't really matter, although I would probably use a mid gray. Or at least for the final application of primer. Then seal it with either a mid to light grey sealer. White sealer would also be an option on an overall. If I was blending I'd use grey because that is generally what OEM's used. If it was an overall I'd seal it white because that would save on topcoat/base.
