prep for basecoat with days between base coats?

spraying ppg deltron or spi bases over fresh/wet sealed spi epoxy. then sometimes days or weeks between base coats, no hardener...just sand base with 400-600, spray a couple more coats and clear? maybe a redundant question but double checking...

You would be better off leaving it in intercoat clear. This way when you get back to it hit it with a grey scotch Brite pad and move forward.

Scuffing is always good but you may check with PPG on the Deltron and see what the latest scoop is.
Reason, I say that in last two years a number of manufacturers have come out on the high end basecoats and said, if left in booth the re-coat time is indefinite, so you may not need to sand.
Really on the better grades of base, we have known this for a long time and I would assume Deltron falls into that category but ask.

As usual, best to see tech sheet, then taking advice of counterman as Gospel.
