Polyester glazing putty over acrylic urethane

I have a car body that I primered with epoxy. The body looked good so I sprayed three coats of acrylic urethane and let it dry. The other day I was looking at the body and noticed some small dents that I overlooked before painting.
Is it possible to put evercoat glazing filler over the painted areas, sand the filler, prime and then respray, or do I need to sand the paint down to the original primer and start over?

Thanks

If the urethane primer is well cured you won't have any problems, make sure you've got a good 180 scratch on these areas before applying your filler. It's not the best way but it will be ok as long as you don't rush the urethane primer cure time.

Bob,

Thanks for the reply.
When I asked about using a poly glazing putty over AU I should have stated that I have sprayed 3 coats of AU paint( OMNI MTK) After it dried I noticed some small dents that I did not take care of before shooting the final top coat. How do I fill in these dents? Do I need to sand the top coats back down to the epoxy primer base, reprime, fill in the dents with Evercoat 400 and then prime again and paint? Or can I sand the cured AU apply the EC400 over the dents, reprime those areas and then repaint?
I am learning as I go and trying to teach myself how to do basic body work and painting. Barry has been very helpful but I hate to bug him all the time.

If the AU is cured you can sand it and apply the poly, sand and prime. Give the primer some cure time before sanding and repainting just to make sure you don't end up with halo's showing the repairs.

If you have a way to elevate the temperature of the surface where the putty is to be applied, it is a good idea to do so after you apply it. Polyester putty seems to have something in it that can penetrate partially cured paint films so it's a good idea to give it heat and plenty of cure time before and after primering.

Thanks crashtech. I live in Florida and can roll the body out in the sun and bring the temp up. It is about 90 degrees now so that wont be a problem.
