Polaris RZR Roof

Chad.S

Oldtimer
Spent a good part of the day making this roof for a good friend of mines, while he rebuilt my dirt bike motor..
He asked for a a flat roof with a few bends. :highly_amused:

That looks awesome Chad. Your friend would have had to pay big bucks to get that done. Are you going to share with us how you did that?

Thanks. I can later, still pounding on Buick quarter panels tonight. After doing the second side I wasn't happy with the first so now i'm re-shaping the first one I made..

What part are you questioning, the letters or the bends around the perimter?

Looks terrible, send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you. I'll even pay shipping. Don't mind the fact that I'd start posting "WTB Polaris RZR" soon after, pure coincidence.

Mostly the letters. Is the radius consistent in the front, or is it deeper on the corners?

Letters were all just done with a step die, just rolled it on each side of the letter to raise the center. Radius is the same across the front but the edges are tipped to lay on the bar. Deeper step die for the windshield recess, center bulge was for rear view mirror mounting.

Lol.. you would have to build a custom cage to match as well, it was fabricated as well, not a stock cage.

No, just steel.. didn't have any aluminum on hand, he has to paint it.
Well, you might as well paint it too...don't take a chance on someone screwing up that work of art.

I'm not to worried about it, mostly did it for the practice and to help him out. He can paint a little bit, he also works at another friends of mine body shop. hoping he paints it with him over there.

I thought about it but I don't have anything to paint right now.. Actually I don't think I've painted for a few months now.. lol..

And all I see in my near future is metal work and maybe some body work depending on what project I set up to work on.. Hopefully I don't forget.. lmao.

Mighty fine work there Chad!

I'm hoping Santa brings me a Razr 1K for Christmas but I'm afraid it won't fit down the chimney. ;)

I'm sure you will still be happy if he leaves it on the roof of you're house.. lol.. Thanks for the comp!!

My father has a Ranger and all of the grandkids constantly are asking for Ranger rides. I've thought the RZR would be fun as well, but definitely doesn't fit into my life right now. I do have an old 3 wheeler engine with electric start, reverse, and shaft drive that may get made into a family go cart though...

Use to race those myself. Now my entire dirt bike fits on my wifes finger... crazy how that works.

Lmao,, now thats one way to put it.. Crazy how something so much different in size can be so much different in price.
